Accommodations
While Tivoli and its surrounding towns are home to many charming B&Bs, we’d recommend renting a cottage or house using VRBO, HomeAway, or airbnb. When searching for accommodations on these sites, look for rentals in Tivoli, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Annandale-on-Hudson, and Germantown. These small towns are all a 10-15 minute drive from Ham House. If you will be driving, you can also broaden the search to Poughkeepsie (15-20 minutes southbound) or Hudson (15-20 minutes northbound).
If you want to stay in a hotel or B&B, we suggest reserving a room at one of the following hotels:
- The Beekman Arms
- The Rhinecliff Hotel
- The Bird’s Nest
- The Red Hook Country Inn
- Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa

the ceremony
The ceremony will be held at 4:30 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014. We recommend you arrive an hour or so before to enjoy a welcome drink and stroll the grounds.
Ham House is a private estate located at 144 Kidd Lane in Tivoli, NY. If you are coming from New York or New Haven, it will take ~2 hours by car. From the New York State Thruway (NY 87), take exit 19 and follow the signs for Rhinecliff Bridge. Over the bridge, take a left at the second traffic light onto RT-9G North. After 5.3 miles, take a left onto Kidd Lane.
If you prefer public transport, take the Amtrak Empire Service Line to Rhinecliff. From the station, it is a 10 minute cab ride to Ham House.
the reception
The reception will follow the ceremony, beginning with speciality cocktails by the pool at ~5:15 PM. Dinner and dancing will commence at 7 PM in the tented area behind the pool, and will continue to 10 PM.
Dress code is semi-formal or “garden party formal.” While the tented area is hardtop, the ceremony and cocktails will take place on grass. (Ladies, we recommend wedges or heels that won’t sink into the lawn or stain easily.)

We would kindly request “no box gifts.” We’d also welcome experiential gifts–like passes to BAM or the Metropolitan Opera–or gift cards to Design Within Reach.
